GEM Hospital, India’s premier center for Gastroenterology, Laparoscopic, and Robotic Surgery, has unveiled two significant initiatives to support patients suffering from pancreatic disorders.

24x7 Helpline for Pancreatic Disorders

In a landmark move, GEM Hospital has inaugurated a 24x7 Helpline (Phone: 70920 51931) dedicated to providing immediate medical assistance to patients experiencing symptoms of pancreatic diseases. This helpline will be manned by highly qualified specialists round the clock, ensuring timely guidance and support for conditions such as pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, and more.

Dr. P. Senthilnathan, Director of GEM Hospital, remarked, "The helpline aims to offer expert advice and immediate assistance to patients at any time of the day, making healthcare accessible and effective.”

Month-long Free Jaundice Screening Camp

From 4th December to 31st December 2024, GEM Hospital is conducting a free jaundice screening camp to identify early symptoms of pancreatic disorders. The camp also includes free screenings for conditions like pancreatic stones, cysts, tumors, and pancreatitis, along with free consultations or second opinions for patients already diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Speaking about the camp, Dr. Senthilnathan emphasized, “Jaundice is often an early warning sign of pancreatic cancer. Through this initiative, we aim to detect cases early, enabling timely intervention and better outcomes for patients.”

Spotlight on Pancreatic Health

Highlighting the need for awareness, Dr. C. Palanivelu, Chairman & Founder of GEM Hospitals, said, “The incidence of pancreatic disorders is increasing, and awareness about symptoms like jaundice, abdominal pain, weight loss, and changes in appetite is crucial for early diagnosis. Our hospital has performed six complex pancreatic surgeries in the past week, showcasing our commitment to providing advanced care.”
