100 plus new COVID infections now in 7 TN districts

When compared to the 2652 new or fresh Covid-19 cases reported on Monday, 2505 new cases were reported on Tuesday. This has shown that there is a decline in the fresh cases now in TN. There are as many as 31218 persons still under treatment for this deadly infection.

As many as 7 districts belonging to TN reported 100 plus Covid-19 cases yesterday and as many as 24 districts reported fewer than 50 cases. Two hundred and eighty two cases were reported in the district of Coimbatore yesterday and this was followed by Erode district with 187 Coronavirus cases. The District of Thanjavur had 185 Coronavirus cases and Chennai district reported 160 cases. Lowest of just 13 Covid-19 cases in TN was recorded in the Ramanathapuram district.

It was later mentioned by the health minister of TN Mr. M. Subramanian that inspite of cases coming down there is still no evidence of how the third infection wave would be. He threw light on the countries like the UK that have been reporting sudden spurt in the cases and fewer hospitalisation and deaths than in the previous waves of Coronavirus infection. He added that TN did not receive adequate vaccines. In TN, 3.35lakh people have been vaccinated on Tuesday.
