After a steady decline in the Coronavirus infection cases, Chennai has been witnessing an increase in the cases now and this inspite of strict Covid-19 norms.
In Kilpauk, a new cluster has been identified in Varadammal Garden Street.
Information is that as many as 300 samples were tested for Coronavirus infection here and 24 samples turned positive. The temple festival here is the reason for many getting affected with this deadly infection. The devotees thronged the temple and Covid-19 protocols were not followed. In addition to this, none were vaccinated. This was pointed out by state health secretary Mr, J. Radhakrishnan.
He was busy inspecting the Omandurar Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital in Chennai. He hinted that GCC was involved in identifying 10 to 15 Coronavirus hot spots in Chennai city now. He concluded that immediate steps were taken for controlling.
Careless attitude of the people has been responsible for the increase in the Covid-19 cases in the districts like Chennai, Erode, Coimbatore, Thanjavur, Pudukottai etc.
