With the central government’s announcement that the lockdown presently imposed may be withdrawn on 14th April, the Railways and some Airline services have decided to resume advance booking operations for travel from 15th April.
As a preventive measure against the raging coronavirus which has spread far and wide across the globe including India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared lockdown throughout the country for a period of 21 days. Accordingly, all 3 transportation means - bus, train, and flight - have been blocked.
On another angle, the info started doing rounds that the lockdown will most likely continue even after 14th April!
However, the Central Cabinet Secretary Rajeev Gowda informed that this is false news and the government has not taken any such decision! With this official clarification, the very next day, information has come out that Indian Railways and some private airlines have planned to resume advance booking for travel from 15th April.
