The rapidly spreading Coronavirus second infection wave has been brought under control in the state of Tamil Nadu is well known. The TN government has implemented lockdown with lesser restrictions now. In this scenario, there would be continuous monitoring of shops plus others like private organisations, commercial establishments, vegetable markets etc. It has been pointed out by the GCC that only 50percent customers would only be allowed.
From the statement released by the GCC, it was clear that in those areas under the GCC for the sake of preventing the spreading of Covid-19 infection and for the sake of protective measures, GCC has joined hands with the police department. A monitoring team has been formed (combining GCC and police personnel) and they would be keeping an eye on the crowd that would be visiting the commercial establishments etc on the weekends in Chennai. It is well known that commercial establishments etc witness huge crowds on the weekends. It also mentioned that to prevent Coronavirus infection from spreading, protective measures must be taken in those shops, private organizations, commercial establishments and vegetable markets etc coming under GCC. The customers must maintain social distancing plus wear facemasks and wash their hands with soap and water/ hand sanitizers etc compulsorily.
The owners of the hotels/restaurants, commercial establishments, markets etc must make sure that these function with just 50percent of customers. Those visiting these plus employees must be checked for their temperatures using a thermal scanner. Both the employees as well as the customers must wear face masks. Gloves etc and must wash their hands with hand sanitizers etc. The owners make sure that employees and customers enter only after washing the hands with hand sanitizers kept at the entrances.
It is worthy to mention that the civic body had warned owners of action under Communicable Diseases Act 1897 if the monitoring teams found any violation.
