Ever since the year 2013 when Amazon first came into existence in India, the e-commerce business has grown amazingly is well known to us. Point to be noted is that Amazon claims to empower more than 12lakh India businesses to sell many products online and deliver to the customers residing in every nook and corners of India.
The sensational piece of news that has come out now is that a new memorandum of understanding or MOU was signed between Amazon India and the Labour Ministry for the purpose of creating jobs in India. This was mentioned by the Union minister for labour & employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.
It must be taken into account that the National Career Service portal of the Labour Ministry is becoming highly famous now. Information gathered is that more than 33 lakhs establishments are linked on a single platform and crores of people who need jobs are also connected with it. This was pointed out by the minister.
By the end of 2025, about 20 lakhs jobs could be created and this was announced openly by Amazon India. The minister explained that Amazon was a global technology platform and through this platform job opportunities were available in the IT sector, e-commerce plus in event management, skill, manpower etc.
On its website, Amazon India has mentioned that it has pledged to create 20 lakhs jobs by 2025. It is learnt that in the last year alone Amazon has created 1.4lakh jobs across many industries like IT, e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing etc.
