The key highlights include:
Old Pension Scheme: A special committee studying the revival of the old pension scheme will submit its report by September 30, 2025.
Pongal Gift Hike: The Pongal festival gift amount for C and D group government pensioners has been increased to ₹1,000.
Education Assistance:
- Children of government employees pursuing higher and vocational education will receive an education advance of ₹1 lakh.
- Arts and polytechnic students will be eligible for an advance of ₹50,000.
Maternity Leave Benefits: Maternity leave will now be counted as part of the qualifying service period for benefits, including promotions.
Festival Advance for Pensioners: The festival advance amount for pensioners has been raised from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000.
