Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has been honored with the third place and a bronze trophy in the ‘Suraksha Puraskar’ (Safety Award) presented by the National Safety Council of India (NSCI) under the Ministry of Labour.
The award recognizes the exemplary safety standards maintained during the Phase II Metro Rail construction project, spanning 118.9 km with 128 stations. Specifically, the award was granted for the underground stretch between Light House Metro Station and Bharathidasan Road Station, constructed by M/s ITD Cementation India Limited.
In a press note, CMRL highlighted that it is the only recipient of this recognition in the Metro Rail project category across India. This achievement underscores CMRL`s commitment to prioritizing safety in its construction projects.
