10 hostels to be built

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa made a slew of announcements in the assembly for the welfare of SC/ST students, including two technical colleges in Cuddalore and Tiruvallur, and a technical institute in Sevvapet.
In a suo motu statement, the chief minister said ten hostels would be built in Perambalur, Thanjavur, Madurai, Vellore, Coimbatore, Trichy, Tirunelveli and Chennai from this academic year itself. About 200 SC/ST hostels will get electric steam boilers, residential schools will get steam 1,577 steam idli cookers and pillows, rain coats and sweaters, she said.
