Disruption in power distribution in places except Chennai

Three units of Thermal power plant in North Chennai, Vallur remained shut down on Friday due to coal pollution and excessive fog. Owing to this shut down, there prevailed power shortage in different places except Chennai. There were 2 hours power cut in several places. Power lines of 400 KW capacity is available between North Chennai Thermal power plant, Vallur and thermal power station in Ennore. Power generated here is distributed to various places in northern Chennai.
These units are often facing troubles due to pollution in coal due to which the distribution becomes difficult. The recent disruption was with the excessive fog on Friday. According to sources, there was 2-hour power cut in different places. These issues were resolved by the noon time on the same day, Friday, and the generation was restarted.
