Tamil Nadu Government: Tax reduction on cardamom & cell phone effective from 1st April!

Tamil Nadu Government gazette has informed that the tax reduction on cardamom and cell phones will be effective from 1st April.
Tamil Nadu state CM & Finance Minister, Mr. O. Panneerselvam, presented the budget for 2015-16 on 25th March. He announced various concessions. He announced tax reduction on cardamom, cell phones, and the process of applying adhesives for threads (weaving industry).
Chief Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Department of Commercial Tax & Registration, Mr. S K Prabhakar, has released a press report on 25th March:
· Value added tax completely withdrawn from the process of applying adhesive on thread before weaving
· Value Added Tax on cardamom reduced from 5% to 2%
· Value Added Tax on cell phones reduced from 14.5% to 5%.
All the above will be effective from 1st April.
