An electric short circuit that occurred in an electric device at Intensive Care Unit of Rajiv Gandhi hospital, Chennai has given rise to fire accident.
All the 18 patients here were evacuated immediately and placed at the intensive care unit in the floor below. As it was a minor fire outbreak, the hospital management coped with subsiding the fire.
There is no danger to the patients now. All are safe and kept protected. There was not any fire, but only smoke. As a preventive measure, the patients were moved to safer places, said Ramakrishnan, Health Secretary of the hospital.
