How to use the smart card in the ration shop?

The smart family ration cards are now being distributed throughout Tamil Nadu replacing the original ration card/booklet. The task of distribution of smart ration cards commenced on 1st April.
A target has been set to complete the distribution of all smart ration cards within the next 2 months. An official explained the procedure as to how to use the smart ration card.
There will be a machine in the shape of a box in the ration shop. There will be another machine kept adjacent for the purpose of preparing the bill.
Once you enter the ration shop, show the smart card in front of the white light at the top of the boxlike machine. The machine will get activated.
The ration shop staff will do the billing operation on the other machine. The items bought will get registered in the smart card. The details of the item bought will be received as SMS in the card holder`s cell phone. The smart card can be removed from the machine.
Then you can pay the money for the bought ration items.
