An announcement from the police department states that in a notable reshuffling in the department, new Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) are to be appointed for T. Nagar, Mylapore, Madhavaram, Ambattur, Kilpauk, Triplicane and St Thomas Mount. The home department has transferred over 41 police officers.
- P. Saravanan who has been the T Nagar DCP will take over as Mylapore DCP, and P Aravindan (Traffic – South) shall take the place in T. Nagar
- Pravesh Kumar, the Kilpauk DCP is transferred as the DCP in Triplicane district
- S Rajendran, the Madhavaram DCP will function in Kilpauk
Furthermore, S Sarvesh Raj and C Kalaichelvan who have been the Assistant Superintendents of Police are promoted as the Superintendents and are to take position as the Deputy Commissioners in Ambattur and Madhavaram respectively.
M S Muthusamy, the Uniform Services Recruitment Board SP will function as the DCP of St Thomas Mount instead of PSC Kalyan who is set to get appointed as the SP of Trichy.
Trichy DCP who got familiar during Jallikattu protests, A Myilvaganan will be appointed as the DCP of headquarters in Madurai city. Arvind Menon, S Sakthi Ganesan, Suguna Singh and Dr N Sreenatha all of whom are probationary officers with ASP are now promoted as superintendents of Police.
