This upcoming sensory park in Santhome for special kids would be fantastic

There are many kids with disabilities and these kids are unable to live their life like other normal kids. The news that has come out is a sensor park would be set up for the sake of these special kids and these kids would be able to play happily and safely in this park. This park would have a sprawling lawn plus playgrounds etc. In another 2 months this sensory park would be opened in the Santhome High Road and this park would be set up in an area of 15000 sq ft. This was confirmed by the principal secretary of municipal administration, Mr. Harmander Singh. In this amazing park there would be tactile feed platforms that would respond to touch plus specially designed herb garden having plants with unique fragrances to stimulate olfactory senses of the children.

An official belonging to corporation spoke about how the park would have exhibits that would cater to all the 5 senses. He later spoke about light and sound show plus how all these exhibits would have Braille sign boards. Some other features of this sensory park are wheel chair friendly toilets, seats, a basketball court and huge fish tank. The initiative was welcomed by both parents as well as children.

Chennai based special educator, Prema Kumari, expressed her thoughts and spoke about how the parks in Chennai city are not designed for the kids with disabilities etc. She also highlighted that normal children who do not have much exposure with the special kids find it tough to mingle with them. The special kids face issues as they would not be able to play on the swings or run freely like other normal kids. She heaped praises on the corporation that has come out with this superb idea of building sensory park for the sake of special kids.

One important piece of information is a traffic park is also being built so that children could be educated about the traffic rules. The cost of this traffic park is Rs 2.06 crores and this park is being built in an area of 42,200 sq ft. Some of the features that would be present in this traffic park are sign boards, concrete boards plus others like light and sound halls, bus stops and traffic signals with LED lights. Mr. Harmander Singh, municipal administration principal secretary, hinted that these two upcoming parks would have both RO water facilities plus sewage treatment plant.
