Formerly called as Mount Road, Anna Salai is highly popular amongst the residents of Chennai. It is well known that Anna Salai begins at the Cooum Creek, south of Fort St. George and ends up at the Kathipara Junction in Guindy. The information is Anna Salai would get state-of-art iconic twin buildings. The point is state government is having plans for a commercial hub on the 4.97 acres of land belonging to the TN Housing Board and TN Slum Clearance Board in Nandanam.

Some sources have pointed out that these upcoming 2 buildings that were initially considered to be the carbon copy of the highly popular Petronas towers of Malaysia but they might not be similar. It is now believed that these two state-of-art twin buildings would make Chennai city unique.

It is worth mentioning that Detailed Project Report or DPR has been prepared by a consultant CBRE. The important information is the project is now in the final stages of discussion and is awaiting the approval from Mr. O. Paneerselvam, deputy chief minister of TN.

Later it was mentioned by some CBRE officials that conceptual design options has been put forward and the state must take a decision. The officials finally threw light on how the twin buildings would be unique and not a carbon copy of any other building. More information about the buildings could not be got now as the sources refused to let out the details.

It must be taken into account that the twin buildings would bring synergy into other infrastructure proposed to be developed by the government on the arterial road plus the project would also provide job opportunities to many. It must not be forgotten that this project was envisaged under ‘Vision 2023’ of former chief minister of TN, Dr. J. Jayalalitha.

The important information here is the project would provide modern office space plus connectivity and knowledge base. By this, high end support to the corporate entities belonging to the finance sector would be provided under one- roof. Another advantage is it would decongest the residential areas.

The interesting information is Chennai is the headquarters for as many as 400 financial industry businesses and 200 are located in places like Mylapore, T. Nagar, Nungambakkam and Raja Annamalai Puram etc. As a result, these areas in Chennai are highly congested and have put pressure on the authorities for additional infrastructure.

Important information is there is a plan to develop Chennai Finance City or TN Commercece Hub as an infrastructure project to accommodate public-private institutions and start up parks etc. The point to be noted is Anna Salai has been selected now because of the fact that it has all major localities of the city feeding traffic into it.
