Flags hoisted in as many as 33000 locations in Chennai - 75th Independence Day!!

It is well known that India got independence from the Britishers rule on 15th August 1947. Today is 15th August 2022. India would be celebrating its 75th Independence Day today and it is a wonderful occasion for all the Indians across the world.
The GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation has hoisted national flags (on the occasion of Independence Day & Azad Ki Amrit Mahostav) in as many as 33000 locations in Chennai
The national flags have been displayed at the top of Ripon Buildings, Napier Bridge, arches in manor places plus in streetlights in Chennai. This was mentioned by Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, GGCC Commissioner. He spoke about how GCC has requested banks and has got more than 30000 national flags. The flags have been put on various light poles on the major roads in Chennai. National flags were put on several autos, buses etc plus also on many vehicles belonging to the GCC. Ripon Buildings have been illuminated by GCC with dynamic lights.
On 22nd August 2022, Chennai Day would be celebrated and GCC has requested the residents to take part. It is learnt that GCC on 22nd August would be organising painting competitions, photography plus others like social media reels, short film competitions etc.
