The State Minister for Electricity of Tamil Nadu State Government, Senthil Balaji, informed that due to the recent increase in the Dearness Allowance, more than 1 lakh workers of TANGEDCO will benefit!
On the special occasion of Independence Day, Special poojas and prayers were performed in all temples under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Hindu Religious Endowment and after that, a public feast was served!
As a part of this, in special poojas and prayers are performed in the Park Town Temple of Lord Kandaswamy in Chennai Metro City and public lunch is served. Tamil Nadu State Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji participated on this occasion!
After the public feast, the Minister for Electricity had a session with the press reporters shared:
"Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has made some very special announcements on the occasion of Independence Day!
With this announcement, the retired employees of TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company), permanent and temporary Staff of TANGEDCO, for a total of 1.80 Lakhs employees will benefit from this announcement!
The Tamil Nadu State Government will incur an additional expense of Rs. 140 Crores on this!
Further, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin will be announcing public welfare schemes on 24th August in Coimbatore!
The same day (24th August) evening, thousands of other party members are joining DMK in the presence and leadership of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.
Maintenance work is being undertaken at the night in certain areas of Chennai Metro City. As such, power cut prevails during this period! On this issue, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has ordered that joint action must be undertaken by TANGEDCO along with Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).
