Chintadripet located in the central part of Chennai would soon become home for a modern fish market.
Yesterday, 11th of July 2023, Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin, minister for youth welfare and sports, grabbed many eyeballs when he inaugurated the construction of a modern fish market in Chintadripet. In an area of 1247 sq m, the modern fish market would be set up under the Singara Chennai 2.0 project. An amount of Rs 2 cr would be spent on this.
The minister wanted the market to be constructed as soon as possible and later open it to the public.
The market would be senational with some amazing facilities like tensile construction to avoid damage due to cyclones and storms plus it would have a treatment plant to discharge fish waste, systems for easy disposals of garbage, special SWD, vehicles to transport fish waste to the composting centres.
