Footboard travel is springboard to hell, but who cares?
In Chennai, many students belonging to the schools and colleges travel in the foot boards in the MTC buses and create many issues. The news now is that the transport dept has announced that it would identify and send the names (of those students who travel on the footboards) to their educational institutions.
It has been found out that many students belonging to schools and colleges do not follow moral practices etc in the public places. Bitter truth is that the students engage in the bus route or route thala competitions plus travelling on the bus footboards, taking part in activities by just hanging on the footboards etc. There are some students who sit on the bus roofs and travel also.
It is learnt that such type of above said activities of the students has been creating many issues for other bus commuters also. Inspite of action taken by the police, such activities take place again and again. The students must realise that not only they get affected by the irresponsible activities but also their parents etc.
Now, more police personnel would be present along the bus routes where students travel in huge numbers such as Kilpauk, Nungambakkam, Perambur, Vyasarpadi, Pulianthope,Velachery, Veppery and Guindy etc.
The police personnel would regulate the traffic and they would take down the names of those students who travel hanging on the footboards and send the names to the respective schools and colleges etc. The educational institutions would then inform the parents of these students and action would be taken against the students. Now, this action of the police dept has started in Chennai and it would be carried out in other cities also. The police dept has asked the students to be careful from now on while travelling in the MTC buses.
