The Chennai Book Fair, organized by the Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI), has attracted around 10 lakh visitors within the first 10 days, surpassing last year’s numbers.
“Footfall has been highly encouraging, and we expect it to grow further,” said SK Murugan, secretary of BAPASI. Children’s books have seen the highest sales, with parents showing keen interest in promoting reading habits. Books on Sangam literature and socially relevant novels are also in demand.
The fair is open daily: 2 PM to 8:30 PM on weekdays and 11 AM to 8:30 PM on weekends. Visitors can enjoy a 10% discount on purchases. The event concludes on January 12.
