In the future, there would be a new modular sewage treatment plant in Royapuram zone based Ayyaswamy Street.
The latest news is that GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation has passed a resolution on Thursday, 22nd February 2024 to give permission to issue a no objection certificate or NOC for CMWSSB or Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. regarding setting up of a modular sewage treatment plant
It must be taken into account that the land owned by GCC located near the plant does not have enough space for the equipment and heavy vehicles needed for the sewage treatment plant. It must be recalled that in the past the place was used for waste segregation work which was requested by the metro water board. Currently, this place is not being used for the same purpose.
Information gathered is that as Enter Upon Permission, atleast 1699 sq mts of land could be given to the CMWSSB as an urgent necessity for the development works of 10MLD capacity sewage treatment plant.
