Chennai`s popular Kalaignar Centenary Park, which had been closed since October 15 following torrential rains in the city, is set to reopen to the public on Saturday, October 19. According to a report from Daily Thanthi, the park`s reopening comes as the threat of extremely heavy rainfall has diminished, making it safe for visitors to return.
To manage the usual weekend crowds, visitors are encouraged to purchase entry tickets online. General admission tickets will be available until 6 pm. However, tickets for special attractions such as the aviary and zipline will only be available for purchase online until 4 pm.
The park`s musical fountain, which has a daily visitor limit of 320 people, will also reopen. Tickets for the musical fountain can be purchased through the official website starting from 4 pm on the day of the visit.
