New bridge to eliminate risky short cuts

People from Ezhil Nagar and its neighboring areas have been making use of railway tracks laid across the Buckingham canal. They consider this as a short cut route to reach Nehru Nagar and other north Chennai areas. Such a risky travel can be avoided very soon with the construction of two single-lane bridges across the Buckingham canal. This is expected to get ready in another few months by the water resource department.
However, this practice of using railway track is considerably reduced with the warnings made by the railway police.
