Long term demand of Maduraiites - Construction of flyovers in Goripalayam and Melamadai Junction in Madurai to be ready by 2025!!
A huge relief for the residents of Madurai!!
On Monday, 16th December 2024, the minister for Public works, Highways and Minor Ports, Mr. SP. Velumani mentioned that by 2025 the construction of 2 flyover bridges in places like Goripalayam and Melamadai Junction in Madurai would be ready. He was inspecting the works in Madurai yesterday.
It must be remembered that on 30th of October in 2023 the TN chief minister Mr. M.K. Staln inaugurated the construction works of these flyovers in Madurai. The objective behind the construction of these 2 flyovers would be to reduce the traffic congestion and ensure free flow of traffic. This has been a long term demand of the people of Madurai is known.
The good news is that about 25percent of works at Goripalayam and 320percent of works at Melamadai Junction have been completed. This was according to the minister. It must be noted that regarding road based issues the residents could have access to Namma Salai app and lodge their complaints. Within a period of 48 hours, necessary action would be taken.
On 15th July 2023, CM of TN inaugurated Kalaignar Centenary library here and yesterday the minister Mr. Velumani inspected this library and mentioned that there was no water seepage following the heavy rains. It is sensational to note that ever since its inception the library has been accessed by 13,59,996 visitors. Every day an average of 2650 visitors come to this library. There are plans to provide more facilities at this library.
