Water treatment plant in Koyambedu

SIPCOT is jointly working with Chennai Metrowater to establish a 45MLD capacity tertiary treated reverse osmosis plant in Koyambedu to supply treated water to industrial parks in a Kancheepuram district. Currently, SIPCOT is drawing was ter from Chembarambakkam lake. A note tabled by industries minister P Thangamani said that expansion of indus trial parks at Irungattukottai, Sriperumbudur and Oraga dam and creation of new parks such as Vallam-Vada gal, and Vaipar-Mathur have increased the demand.
