Quite a lot of techies working in the IT corridor have failed to receive their letters and parcels directed to them, for the past six month’s period of time.
Almost 25 percent of total 300 to 400 mails and items that has been land in about seven post offices down the IT corridor, each day, are handed over late as the security staffs at IT forms snub to consent personal mails of the staffs.
Majority of the postmen at Sholinganallur and Perungudi complain that lingering for long hours at IT firms to distribute mail has delayed their services to other residents in close by zones.
So as to bring in a solution to this problem, the postal department has inscribe to more than 30 IT companies located in areas including Kelambakam, Sholinganallur, Perungudi and Okkiyam at Thoraipakkam.
The postal department had convened a meeting well advance with the representatives of IT companies, National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) and the labor department. But, in no way it helps in solving the problem.
Countering to the issue, Nasscom’s senior director K. Purushothaman said that more than the thousands of employees in IT firms shift amid diverse site offices. Thus, it is the tough task to trail each employee’s schedule.
We choose on few recommendations including entry of postmen into IT firms. We will soon summon meeting with stakeholders and the labor department to solve the problem, he added.
