Tamil Nadu State Assembly to convene tomorrow: Dhanapal to be elected as Speaker

Tamil Nadu State Assembly will be convening tomorrow. Former Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal and Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman will be reelected as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively. The 15th Tamil Nadu Assembly, which met for its first session on 25th May under pro-tem Speaker S Semmalai. Pro-tem Speaker S Semmalai administered the oath to the Chief Minister was sworn in the name of God followed by her ministers including, her trusted lieutenant O Panneerselvam. Then the pro-tem speaker adjourned the session to 3rd June. He also announced the elections for speaker and deputy speakers.
 
Former Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal and Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman today filed their nomination papers for their respective posts and were all set to be re-elected unopposed tomorrow. . Once they were declared elected unopposed by the Pro-tem Speaker, Leader of the House O Panneerselvam and the Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin would guide the Speaker to his seat as per the Assembly tradition.
