Departure destinations of reserved buses

In order to reduce the traffic congestion during the Deepavali season, it has been decided to operate buses from 5 different places. There is also traffic diversion for car and other vehicles.
 
Every day more than 1500 buses are being operated to various places from Koyambedu bus terminus. During the festive season nearly 4000 government buses are being operated. The Omni buses to various places are also being operated here. This causes heavy traffic congestion at important roads including GST road and Poonamallee High Road.  
 
The government has made necessary arrangements to make hassle free travel. Some of the changes with regard to buses have been made on 26th,27th and 29th on the occasion of Deepavali.
 
Departure destinations of reserved buses
 
All the Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh transport corporations buses which go to Andhra via Red Hills will depart from Anna Nagar West Metropolitan Transport Corporation.
 
All the buses to Puducherry and Cuddalore via ECR and Kancheepuram will depart from State Election Commission Office (opposite Koyambedu bus terminal).
 
Buses to Kumbakkonam and Thanjavur via Tindivanam and Vikravandi will be operated form Tambaram Sanatorium Arignar Anna Bus Terminal.  
 
Buses to Vellore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupathur and Hosur will be operated from Poonamallee bus terminal.   
 
Passengers who have reserved or not reserved for the mentioned routes can travel from this bus terminal from 26th to 28th.

Apart from the above all the other buses will depart from Koyambedu bus terminus.
 
Diverted routes
 
All the buses which have booked fully will reach Vandalur on the outer ring road via Maduravayal, Poonamallee and Nazarethpettai instead of Tambaram and Perungalathur. 
 
Suppose any passengers who have booked the boarding points for Tambaram and Perungalathur bus terminuses should board the bus at Urapakkam temporary bus stand. 
 
Link buses will be operated to all the bus stations by Metropolitan Transport Corporations.  
Those travelling by cars and other vehicles from 26th to 28th are requested to avoid Tambaram and Perungalathur. For a comfortable and hassle free journey, car passengers are requested to use Tirukalukundram and Chengalpet route or Perambadur and Chengalpet route.  
 
Special buses for Deepavali will be announced in a short span of time by the Tamil Nadu government.
