Voters list correction for 1 month

The task of correcting the Voters List in Chennai commences on 1st July and will continue for a month.
With the basic idea to ensure that all the voters residing in Chennai should not be left out of the voters` list, this task of correcting the voters` list has been taken up – to add new names and correct errors in existing names starting from today for a month.
Special attention is given to ensure that none is left out particularly in the age group 18-21.
Further, special camps are to be organised on Sundays, 9th July and 23rd July in all the polling booths. The public can visit this camp, get the forms, fill and submit so that their names are included in the final voters` list.
If differently-abled, they can dial the toll-free number 1950. The personnel from the polling booth office will personally come to their residences and take the necessary action for inclusion in the final voters` list.
The filled application forms can be submitted in the Corporation’s zonal offices 4. 5. 6. 8, 9. 10, and 13 and the office of the District Election Officer. The filled applications can be sent by post as well.
To register online, visit the website - http://elections.tn.gov.in and apply. Otherwise, on the Android Phone, download the App TN Elections and apply through that. As another avenue, visit the nearest E-service centre and apply.
