It is known that in the year 1951 first Indian Institute of Technology or IIT was set up in Kharagpur in the state of West Bengal. Then in the year 1959 IIT Madras came into being and since then this institute has been producing many outstanding students.
The latest news that has come out is on Friday 5th January, IIT Madras has opened its labs for the sake of the public and it would be opened on Saturday also. It must be noted that more than 40 labs present in the IIT madras are opened now and in these labs many researchers are doing their work.
It is known that Shaastra annual festival takes place every year at this IITM and in this year 2018 this festival has started from 4th January and it would go on till 7th January. It is now revealed that as a initiative of this festival the labs in IIT Madras are now opened.
It is interesting to note that the researchers in this prestigious IIT madras have been doing superb research in many fields like deducting adulteration in milk, testing of aerodynamics of projectiles etc. These researchers have welcomed the students from other colleges and they have surprised many students with their amazing talent.
Hariharan who is a researcher at this IIT-M spoke about how he had made a handheld device that could be used to detect adulteration in liquids such as honey, milk, juice etc. He also spoke about how this hand held device could play important role as a diagnostic tool for dengue etc. It is worthy to mention that nearly 500 students were given permission to access these labs at IIT Madras as they have got registered online.
Many students who visited these labs at this IIT Madras were stunned by the technological developments. MS. Sivakumar who is the dean of IITM expressed his thoughts and said how institute open house is a window to the world of research and development.
