TN Government: Free bus pass for students will continue

The state government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the present system of issuing free bus passes for students will continue.
In a special report, it is mentioned that though the bus fares have been revised upwards recently, the school students will be issued free bus passes.
2266483 free bus passes have been issued to the school students studying from 1st Standard to 12th Standard.
For the students studying in private colleges, bus passes with 50% concession will be issued.
State government states that Rs. 540.99 Crores has been allotted to the state transport corporation for the issue of free bus passes for all school students for the academic year 2018-19.
