Tangedco assures round- the- clock power supply in TN

The news that has now come out is Tangedco or Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company would be taking steps to maintain round-the-clock power supply in TN. This piece of news comes at a time when Corona virus is spreading in TN like fire as more and more number of positive cases are getting reported daily.
It was revealed by the electricity minister of TN, Mr. P. Thangamani on Sunday that more than 80 percent of operations and maintenance staffs were working round-the-clock to maintain power supply. He cited an example how few days back power disruption took place due to technical snag in Kadapperi and how the maintenance staffs rectified the issue quickly.
It is known that the centralized complaint number is 1912. For the sake of registering complaints in Chennai city, Tangedco has opened phone lines for the residents.

The electricity minister later explained about how the power demand has come down by 4500 MW as many industries in TN were closed due to Corona virus issue. This closure of industries has resulted in more people at their homes and the domestic power demand has become more now.
