Important issue in Nungambakkam that has been making the lives of the residents difficult now!!

It is a very serious issue when open land in a residential locality is used as a garbage disposal place and as a place for defecation etc. This is now happening in Nungambakkam based Mayor Sivashanmugam Street. The residents here are totally upset regarding this and they have complained to the authorities also. The mosquito menace plus other health issues in the locality have been due to the garbage disposal and open defecation etc here. The residents want the GCC authorities to take immediate action.
It must be noted that the empty land was used as a parking lot for a restaurant. After the restaurant got shifted, for the last 2 months, the empty land was used as a garbage dumping spot. It was mentioned by a resident here that the residents have been asked not to dispose of their garbage in the open land but it was not followed. He spoke about how every day garbage got piled up and no action was taken by the authorities of GCC. As per another resident it was clear that in the monsoon season the water stagnation would lead to breeding of mosquitoes. The bad smell due to open defecation here has made the residents unable to open their windows also.
