The first load of sugar cane arrives in Chennai for Pongal

On Monday, the Koyambedu market got the first load of sugar cane. Sugarcane traders and wholesalers said that they hoped for better sales than last year. This year’s price stands currently at Rs 300, 200 and 150 for first, second and third quality cane respectively.
