Those selling loads of vegetables, fruits and lot more every day in the Chennai Koyambedu market, obviously being citizens of India who do have right to vote just like any others will have holiday on the day of general elections, April 24, said the merchants association.

Speaking to the advisor of Chennai Koyambedu market, V.R. Soundhar Rajan, he said there are over 4000 vegetable stores, 2000 fruit stores and flower stores. On the whole, they count to nearly 6000 numbers. Here, there are more than 10000 merchants out of which a considerable amount of them is from other districts.
