Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has implemented stringent measures to address waterlogging caused by Cyclone Fenjal at Phase-2 project sites, metro stations, and depots. A total of 350 water pumps have been deployed across Corridors 3, 4, and 5, with pumps of various capacities installed to manage rising water levels and dewater flooded areas. Special arrangements have been made at Panagal Park, where high-capacity pumps divert collected water to the Nandanam Canal after storage in a 1.25 lakh-liter sump.

CMRL officials, along with contractors and necessary equipment, are monitoring all project sites to ensure safety and minimize disruptions. Collaboration with the Greater Chennai Corporation is ongoing to prepare the city for the cyclone. Despite the challenges, CMRL is committed to completing the Phase-2 project on time while prioritizing public safety.
