The ‘laddu’s (sweet balls) made from coconut and til (sesame seeds) are the right answers if you have a craving for sweet or, in other words, having a ‘sweet tooth’.
This sweet item is made with only 3 ingredients - coconut (grated), sesame seeds, and dates.
Note that dates are used replacing sugar! This will cut off any worries on the extra calories!
Ingredients
- White sesame seeds - 2 cups
- Chopped dates - one-and-a-half cup
- Dry grated coconut - 1 cup
The recipe
- Finely chop de-seeded dates.
- Dry roast sesame in a wok for around 1-2 minutes on medium flame until it light golden.
- Keep the sesame seeds aside to cool.
- Add coconut to the wok. Stir well.
- Lightly grind the cooled sesame in a dry grinder more for a few seconds. Make sure you don`t grind it to fine.
- Take the ground sesame seeds in a bowl. Add chopped dates and coconut powder and mix well.
- Take a small amount of mixture and roll it in hand to form a ball or laddu. You can roll the laddu in some coconut powder to add texture.
