CMRL to Discontinue Paper Group Tickets, Introduces Digital QR Option with Higher Discount

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced that the paper-based Group Ticket facility for groups of 20 or more passengers will be discontinued from March 1, 2025. This move is part of CMRL’s efforts to transition towards digital ticketing.
Instead, passengers can purchase QR-Group Tickets through the CMRL mobile app, which will now offer a 20% discount an increase from the previous 10% discount on paper tickets.
CMRL expressed gratitude for passengers` continued support and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing metro services.
