Great news!! Direct flight between Chennai and Vietnam soon!!
One of the fastest growing tourist destinations across the globe is Vietnam. Not many would know that Vietnam is 15th largest populated country. In the future, Chennaites could visit Vietnam easily with their families etc.
The news that has emerged now is that Chennai airport would get direct connectivity to Vietnam. Point to be noted is that AAI or Airport Authority of India has requested international airlines to direct flights from Chennai to countries like Australia, Japan and Cambodia etc.
It was brought to light by the officials belonging to the Ministry of Civil Aviation that Chennai city would have direct flights to Vietnam. In 2024, this SE Asian nation witnessed a spike in international visitors of 17.5millon.
In the last week of March, an international conference took place in Australia and this was mentioned by the AAI officials. The officials have requested airlines to consider Chennai as a point of call. An official later spoke about how there have been many talks with airlines to start operating direct flights between Chennai and Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia etc. Point is that some of the airlines have shown keen interest.
