The depression over the Bay of Bengal remains under the influence of high wind shear, keeping its low-level circulation exposed. This atmospheric condition has significantly hindered its intensification. While there is a possibility of slight strengthening, the proximity to the north Tamil Nadu coast is likely to prevent the system from developing into a severe cyclone. If it does reach cyclonic status, it is expected to be marginal, hovering close to the strength of a deep depression.
