Traffic Diversions Announced at Adyar Junction Due to CMRL Works

Posted on: 26/Oct/2024 10:48:46 AM

In light of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) construction activities at Adyar Junction, temporary traffic diversions will be in effect on Saturday and Sunday as a trial measure. These diversions aim to ease traffic flow while construction is underway.

As per the diversion plan, vehicles heading from Sardar Patel Road towards Greenways Road, Marina Beach, and Mylapore will be redirected at the Adyar Bus Depot Junction. The route will take them through Gandhi Nagar 2nd Cross Street, then onto Ramachandra Adhithanar Road, followed by a left turn at Durgabhai Deshmukh Road, before reaching Thiru Vi Ka Bridge to continue to their destinations.

Two-Way Traffic on Adyar Bridge: Adyar Bridge will temporarily function as a two-way traffic route. Importantly, traffic patterns for vehicles traveling from Thiru Vi Ka Bridge towards Adyar and Thiruvanmiyur will remain unaffected. Similarly, there will be no changes for vehicles coming from Sardar Patel Road toward Adyar and Thiruvanmiyur via LB Road, or those from LB Road and Besant Road traveling to Greenways Road.

The Chennai Traffic Police advise motorists to follow these diversions and plan their journeys accordingly for a smoother travel experience during the weekend construction period.
