Good news about the opening of the Chengalpet bus terminus - Guess when?
The superb news that has come out now is that the newly constructed bus terminus would be opened for the public before the deepavali festival. It is known that the new bus terminus here is being constructed at a cost of Rs 100 cr.
It must be remembered that in January in 2024 CMDA or Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority commenced the construction of Chengalpet bus terminus at Rs 100 cr on a land of 9.95acres.
Salient features of bus terminus:
There would be 2 floors in this bus terminus, the ground floor and first floor. It can accommodate as many as 41 buses at a given time. There would be 35 shops, a/c waiting hall, toilet etc. There is a parking lot here that could accommodate 55 cars and 325 bikes. Now, plans to allocate space for the MTC bus depot are going on.
Yesterday, the construction site was buzzing as Chengalpet district collector Mr. Arun Raj along with CMDA officer Mr. Thangaraj and district administration officers etc made their presence felt here.
Before September, the construction work would get completed and before the festival of Deepavali the new bus terminus would be opened for public use. This was mentioned by the Chengalpet district collector. It is worth noting that the existing bus stop is located at the junction and this bus terminus would reduce the traffic congestion on the GST Road in Chengalpet.
