Chennai to Sabarimala-IRCTC

Chennai branches of Indian Railway Tourism and Catering Corporation (IRCTC) can be approached to undertake a last-minute-planned pilgrimage tour to Sabarimala Ayappan temple and unable to procure train/bus tickets during the season time from November 15 to January 15.
The railway subsidiary has 24 tickets blocked every week on the Chennai Trivandrum Super Fast express every Thursday, which can be booked by tourists even at the last minute. The tour package also involves local travel by cars as well as reserved spots in buses at the pilgrimage destination.
The entire package of three nights and four days includes to and fro confirmed train sleeper class tickets from Chennai and road transfers from Kottayam station to Sabarimala and back. The package costs Rs 2,490 per person for adults and Rs 1,990 per child.
The trip has been planned in such a way that travellers would need to avail only two days leave (Thursday and Friday) and return on Sunday morning, he added.
