Even as re-polling is on at eight places in Tamil Nadu today, Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar on Friday replied to a question as to whether repolling would be ordered at the booth where Superstar Rajinikanth cast his vote.
The top actor was reportedly shown by some television channels, casting his vote in favour of a political party. This, according to legal experts, violated the secrecy of voting.
When reporters asked Praveen Kumar whether repolling would be ordered at the Stella Maris College booth where Rajini performed his democratic duty, the CEO said he had collected information, which had been sent to the Election Commission of India.
“We have seen the visuals of Rajinikanth’s voting at Stella Maris College. But it was not visible to which party he voted. However, we have sent the visuals to the ECI for scrutiny,” he said.
