Dress code and other conditions to be adhered will entering temples

Temples have been directed by The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department under its control to enforce the rules pertaining to the attire of devotees and visitors according to the agamas, traditions and customs of the individual temples.
 
·         Men should wear a dhoti or pajama with upper cloth or formal pants and shirts to temples and women should wear a sari or a half sari or churidhar with upper cloth.
 
·         People entering temples should come without any urgency and worship peacefully. 
 
·         They should praise God while in temple.
 
·         Non Hindus will not be allowed in temples. Cell phone and other electronic gadgets will not be permitted in the temples. 

·         No person shall enter into temple premises unless he has had a bath and wears clothes of such materials and in such manner as is customary in such temple. No person shall enter a temple with any footwear.
 
The above directives have been put up on a banner in Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Triplicane. These directions will come in to force from 1st January 2016.
