In the list of most influential women, the Chairperson of State Bank of India, Arundhati Bhattacharya has acquired 5th place, according to Forbes.
Arundhati Bhattacharya who is currently the Chairperson of SBI, the leading public sector bank in India is notably the first women to acquire this position. This list of most influential women by Forbes has names for four women.
In the Forbes list, Arundhati Bhattacharya has got 25th position. This list comprises of women from different key sectors including business women, leaders, investors, researchers, philosophers, chief executive officers and so on. Chandha Kochhar, the MD and CEO of ICICI bank has acquired 40th place; Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Biocon Limited stands in 77th place and Shobana Bhartia of Hindustan Times Group is on 93rd place. The CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi who is born in India and a naturalized American has also taken place in the list.
Bhattacharya is boasted of having introduced latest technologies, replacing 20 year old conventional methods. She also introduced digital banking and also launched retail banking services through Smartphone and also launched Mobile wallet feature in SBI. On assuming position, she also expanded the total number of SBI branches to 17,000. Their banking services are expanded to 36 countries and serves 33 crore people.
