Anna University releases the random numbers

Anna University has released today the random numbers for the single-window counselling for engineering admissions. There are 17 Anna University colleges, 10 government engineering colleges, 3 government aided engineering colleges and 583 private self financing engineering colleges. Nearly 2 lakhs B.E/B.Tech seats are being filled up by Anna University through counselling.
The random number is one of the criteria to allocate rank to an eligible candidate for counselling. In engineering counselling, many students have the same cut-off marks. Anna University uses parameters like scores in mathematics, physics, chemistry, random number and date of birth to decide the rank.
The merit list will be released on June 22. Counselling for candidates under the sports quota would be held on June 24 and for the differently abled will be held on June 25.
Counselling for general candidates will commence on June 27.
A total of 1, 34,722 candidates have applied for engineering this year.
