The Greater Chennai Corporation has issued an appeal to the public to refrain from burning waste materials during the upcoming Bhogi festival. The corporation highlighted that the burning of plastic waste, old clothes, tires, rubber tubes, and other materials is a common practice during Bhogi, but it leads to significant air pollution and poses serious health risks to the public.
To prevent this, the corporation is urging citizens to hand over any unnecessary items to the Greater Chennai Corporation Conservancy Workers who conduct door-to-door waste collection. By doing so, residents can contribute to a cleaner and greener Chennai.
The corporation emphasized the importance of environmental protection and urged citizens to cooperate in their efforts to create a healthier city for all.
Let’s march towards a greener and cleaner Chennai!
