Electoral roll updating exercise from 1st September

Updating of electoral rolls took place in Tamil Nadu till the month of April on the occasion of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. For the last three months people did not show any keen interest. Now the Election Commission has given an opportunity to include or delete names in the voters list.
The Election Commission (EC) has asked people to get their names registered or make necessary corrections in the voters` list in their respective assembly segments. This exercise will commence from 1st September. The EC has the youths who have completed 18 years of age are required to register their names in the voters` list. People could also apply for deleting names of those who have migrated or died.
